What Is eRecording in California?

eRecording (short for electronic recording) is the process of submitting legal or property-related documents digitally to a County Recorder for official recording.

Instead of physically mailing or delivering documents, you upload them online using our secure portal. The County Recorder receives them through a certified electronic system, reviews, records, and returns the final recorded version to you—often within hours.

  • Legally recognized statewide
  • Secure and tamper-resistant
  • Accepted in 50+ California counties
  • Ideal for deeds, court judgments, liens, and more
